A 45-story luxury tower in the heart of downtown Dallas, and the tallest addition to the city's skyline in over 30 years. We delivered the mechanical systems that keep it running.
Kahn Mechanical played a critical role in the ground-up construction of AMLI Fountain Place, an innovative luxury apartment tower rising 45 stories above downtown Dallas. Set beside the landmark Fountain Place skyscraper, it stands as the tallest addition to the city's skyline in more than three decades.
A residential high-rise of this scale lives or dies on its mechanical systems. Our team engineered and installed the cooling capacity and distribution that keep every floor comfortable, from the ground-floor lobby to the penthouse level, delivering the kind of quiet, dependable comfort a luxury address demands.
Constructing a 45-story tower in a dense downtown core is one of the most demanding environments in commercial mechanical work. Space is tight, logistics are complex, and coordination with the general contractor and other trades has to be precise, all while threading heavy equipment and thousands of feet of piping through a building still taking shape around it.
On top of that, a luxury residential tower sets a high bar for comfort. Cooling has to reach every floor evenly and run quietly, without the temperature swings or noise that residents would never accept in a premium address. The mechanical system had to be engineered for that standard from the very first drawing.
From the cooling plant to the last commissioning check, we delivered a complete mechanical system built for a landmark.
The result is a mechanical system engineered to match the ambition of the architecture: powerful enough to condition a 45-story tower, refined enough to deliver the quiet comfort a luxury address is judged on. It is exactly the kind of high-stakes, ground-up work that has defined our mechanical construction practice since 1974.
A build like this draws on the full depth of what we do.
